Welcome to Pedal for Parkinson's 2012

Pedal for Parkinsons was founded 2008 with the sole aim of funding a cure for people with Parkinson's.

n the past four years we have generated over £100,000

Today, our fundaising for the double end to end Challenge topped £30,000.
This is three times our initial target

We fund innovative projects and inspirational scientists. Our research profile is dynamic and we have become known for our trailblazing approach which has uncovered new targets in the treatment of Parkinson’s. In addition, we bring scientists together to improve communication and collaboration. Founded by patients, and driven by our patient supporters who are demanding new treatments, we are passionate about finding a cure and making an impact on the lives of those living with Parkinson’s

Latest News
The news finally broke on Monday, 19th March, that David Greaves had been selcted to carry t he olympic torch in Thirsk. All 8000 members of the Relay Team have been selected because they are inspirational, either in sport of for work in he community.

David was nominated by e Cure Parkinson's Trust for his work for people with Parkinson's. He was chosen by all three presenting partners, LLoyds TSB, Samsung and Coca Cola and finally submitted by Lloyds TSB in December.

"It's been hard not to shout it from the roof tops", said David, "but it was a relief when I finally received confirmation".

So put 20th June in your Diary and come along to cheer. The steam train carrying the torch from York to Thirsk arrives at 9.23
